That Darn Cat
Written by: David Miller
The bobcat is back.
Bigger and bolder than ever. If the red fox out front wasn't bad enough now the bobcat is sitting out in front of the house now.
She/he was sitting across the road from the mail box where the cats sit and hunt for mice in the long grass in the ditch. Short video below. This is the 3rd time it's showed up at our house.
Video with my iPhone inside the door not to spook it.

I opened the door and walked out into the driveway to see where it went:Bobcat by mailbox on the run from David Miller on Vimeo.
These are two videos I took last year (2017). I wasn't sure if it was a young bobcat or not but looking at the video now I think it was. At least smaller in size compared to how big it is now. When I first came into the kitchen in the morning there I registered a gray cat face to face with one of our other cats on the back deck slider. At first I thought it was a lost cat, Stevie, come back.
Then I did a double take at the size of it's head and said "that's not Stevie". Luckily I had my phone camera handy. Never see it this close again.
The return of the bobcat. Tatiana and I were eating brunch by the slider and she just happened to look up at the right time to see the bobcat stalk up to the bird feeders. It noticed me trying to film it again and took off back into the woods behind our house. Mind you we've seen this bobcat 3 times and it was always during the day. I have seen tracks overnight around the house in the snow. Maybe I'll get one of those game cameras and set it out near the garage to see who and what goes bump in the night.
